Logica’s blended delivery approach for test services is based on having a strong presence in our central European and Nordic countries, with account-facing teams well positioned to help guide their clients to the right answers from across the Logica organization.

Accelerating growth with blended delivery
Offshore delivery is not a new concept. What is relatively new is global test service delivery. About five years old, the appetite for the model is growing rapidly. The pure offshore model followed by many companies involves large-scale delivery centers in low-cost locations with minimal presence onsite (customer) or on shore (Logica). In this model, onshore locations are considered as cost centers and staffed quite often with people unfamiliar with the local culture.
This results in challenges to address the cultural and communication gaps, especially in Europe. Customers now expect their vendors to distribute effective test packages across several centers to reduce risk and costs. However, they still expect innovation, added value and sometimes face-to-face interaction.

Figure 1 show how Logica collaborates with customers and Logica’s internal delivery centers. Our blended approach presents a mix of strong domain knowledge, customer intimacy and low cost industrialized processes. We continue to invest in our blended mix of onshore, near shore and offshore resources to ensure we service our customers in the most efficient way.
Our balanced geographic footprint is helping us to create a platform for sustained growth. It allows us to understand the needs of our customers and their local markets.
Our blended delivery is a unique model where delivery is provided through an optimal mix of onsite, onshore/near shore, and offshore resources to deliver a seamless and consistent service, in the most cost-effective and efficient way.

Figure 2 explains the specific test services activities which are balanced between customer (on site), Logica presence on shore and off shore. With this approach a partnership is born with the customer to run and deliver the multiple test services on a blended approach where three main services cycles are described: Preparation, Execution, Closureand Closure. In practice, variances to near shore sites also exists. For example some delivery is done by our Central East European delivery centers. Another example is where some execution services is done on customers premises due to certain requirements e.g. performance.

The way we deliver the blend
Logica’s blended service model combines the best competencies from around the world to optimize profitability and performance. We focus on providing value added services to meet the particular needs of our customers rather than pure relocation to more cost effective locations. We take the view that, while cost savings are often an important driver for outsourcing activities, customers gain long-term efficiencies when off shoring is combined with process innovation.
