IT Europa, the leading European IT publisher and market intelligence organisation, announced MTR Stockholm as a winner of the European IT Excellence Awards 2011, the pan-European awards event for IT and Telecoms channels. Amidst fierce competition from 31 countries, the mobile workforce project implemented by Logica and Appear won the “Communications and Mobility” award.

Appear Focusing on Rail for 2011
The Global Rail Board at Logica, chaired by Adrian Jones in the UK is focused on developing Logica‟s Rail business. “The board are consolidating Logica‟s Rail clients local challenges to establish common international objectives where Logica can add value. Logica have strong client engagement and have delivered excellent services, we are now looking for commonality to position Logica as the number 1 business services partner in Rail” Adrian was impressed with Appear's recent support on an opportunity in the UK, commenting “Appear Networks have a great technology that international rail companies can benefit from”.

Joint pipeline
The MTR Stockholm Subway project was successfully deployed in the
summer of 2010 and the Logica/Appear team now has a positive return of experience based on 9 months of usage. Appear and Logica have organized several customer reference visits to MTR Stockholm for other prospects in the transport industry, such as Swedish Rail (SJ) and Swedish Air Transport Authority (Swedavia) which has proven an excellent way to build trust and credibility in the industry.
