Business Intelligence for Post Offices

Challenge
The Post Office needed to modernise their existing systems and services to enable them to become more responsive to market conditions and changing business needs, whilst incurring lower support costs.

Approach
Replacing two expired legacy systems, Logica implemented two information management products.
One system to hold and manage all of the Post Office’s reference data, which includes everything from office addresses to products for sale. Extracts of this data will be distributed to other systems periodically.

The second is a responsive data warehouse system, storing updated information about the numbers and types of products sold daily at post office branches and other outlets
